NFTY-Pittsburgh Mitzvah Day and Chinese Food

December 25, 2015
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

As you know, each year the Jewish Federation here in Pittsburgh organizes Mitzvah Day, with an entire day of volunteering around the city. This year NFTY-Pittsburgh will be volunteering as a group on December 25th, followed by lunch on us!

Unfortunately the Jewish Federation is not able to hold spots, and therefore you must register on your own for one of the projects we’ve selected. The two projects we have chosen are both located at the Squirrel Hill JCC and both go from 10 AM- 12 PM. This means that regardless of the project you choose to participate in, we will all end at the same time and go out to lunch together.

The two projects we have chosen are:

1) PB & J making: As the name implies, volunteers for this project will be helping to make and package peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for the hungry in our community.

2) Beverly’s birthdays: Volunteers for this project will be making birthday bags for homeless children in Pittsburgh.

Registration for Mitzvah Day 2015 opens next Monday, November 23 at 9:00 AM. To register you will need to follow this link to the volunteer center website and click on the Mitzvah Day link: http://jfedvolunteer.org/

Please note that both of these sites have limited spots. It is imperative that you sign up as soon as registration is live.

Register by Thursday, December 3, 2015

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.

  • Registration after December 3 is on a space available basis only.

Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Squirrel Hill JCC.
