WINSTY, our winter institute, is the PAR social action event and the only home-housed weekend event. Over Martin Luther King weekend in January, PARites gather at a different synagogue every year to learn about social justice work and participate in a variety of projects within the community. Projects range from cleaning a park to working with sick children to cooking for the homeless to sorting clothes for shelters to a letter writing campaign to the elected state representatives. WINSTY is a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community while having fun with your friends.

**Participants must attend the entire event or they cannot attend any of the event.**

WINSTY ends on Sunday, January 17th at 6:30pm.

Early Bird Registration Fee: $200.00

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.

  • Registration will be accepted after January 4 on a space-available basis.
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.

All participants traveling by car should arrive at Temple Emanuel by 4:45pm on Friday, January 15th and should be picked up there at 6:30pm on Sunday, January 17th.   

Please note that participants may not drive themselves or others to, from, or during NFTY regional events, which does include driving to the bus stop.

Participants will receive a confirmation email one week before the event. The confirmation will include finalized bus arrival and departure information and other important information regarding the event.

Please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow and sheets.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through December 24, 2015 – 90%Through December 31, 2015 – 75%Through January 7, 2016 – 50%After January 7, 2015 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after January 7, 2016 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
